User Experience Design & Project Management

Below are brief records of three different projects that I have worked on in the past that demonstrate a variety of skills including user experience design.

V-Café was a project I participated in during an internship program with Deloitté Canada. The goal of this project was to create a financially viable proof of concept that would allow companies, such as Deloitté, to better implement remote-hybrid working environments in their workplace.

My team gathered data from various industry professionals in several industries via surveys and 1-on-1 interviews. Upon analysis, we realized that many professionals reported feelings of isolation and didn’t feel like they were “a part of a team”.

The main goal of V-Café was to act as a virtual water cooler or breakroom to help bring back the sense of camaraderie to the hybrid-remote office environment. V-Café would serve as a place to informally connect with coworkers and take a short break from work.

This application was ideally targeted toward small teams, social committees, or HSSE groups within larger corporate structures and would include voice and text chat, a media player, and a slide deck presentation format for hosting brief “lunch and learn” style meetings.

Affirmate was an undergrad capstone project where a small team of myself and four peers were required to create a digital live-service application. This project required the completion of significant user testing, financial forecasting, and iterative prototyping to create a final deliverable of a functioning proof of concept with a financially feasible monetization plan.

In addition to the technical and financial feasibility requirements, the project needed to address one of the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

In this instance, Affirmate intended to address goal #3: “Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages”. Affirmate aimed to do this by helping users fight off intrusive negative thoughts and poor mental health using personal affirmations that could be read, listened to, and even sent to friends and loved ones.
